BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones has posted some adorable pictures on his Instagram of himself holding a baby. Gethin, who is from Cardiff, posed with his Morning Live co-star Dr Ranj Singh in the photos.

Gethin and Dr Ranj visited Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec, both former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers who recently welcomed their first baby, Lyra. Posting to Instagram Gethin joked that he and Dr Ranj had not adopted their friends' baby. Want less ads? Download WalesOnline’s Premium app on Apple or Android.

He said: "Just to say, @drranj and I haven't adopted. Met up with little Lyra, who's an absolute angel!!! Unsurprisingly she loves a little twirl, well you would if your parents were @jmanrara and @aljazskorjanec" followed by a dancing and red love heart emoji. Gethin regularly presents Morning Live alongside Janette and this week he landed himself in an awkward moment with a fellow Strictly star on the show.

He welcomed British dancer and choreographer Neil Jones to the show, best known for his role as a professional dancer on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. Neil often appears on Morning Live to talk viewers through the steps for Strictly Fitness, an exercise segment that airs at the end of the show and incorporates moves from previous Strictly routines.

Introducing Neil during the episode that aired on Thursday, April 11, Gethin, who segued from talking about police drama Blue Lights, said: "It's a crime really that he's never lifted the Glitterball Trophy, but why Neil? Not found the right partner?" Shrugging, Neil responded: "Actually having a partner would help."

Luckily, Gethin's co-star for the day was Strictly star Janette, who quickly expelled the awkward scenes, which saw Gethin put his head in his hands, by jumping up and announcing: "I'll dance with you, come on."
