A charity is helping cash-strapped Brits and struggling families potentially get thousands of pounds as the cost of living crisis continues to bite. As part of Turn2us' grant-checking online tool, eligible people could be handed up to £2,000 to help with their finances - whether that's for food shopping, household bills, school uniforms or more.
The Turn2us 'Grants Search' has over 1,400 grants to support individuals looking for financial help. Turn2us also offers a small number of its own grants.
A grant does not have to be paid back. But, to be eligible for one, you need to meet certain criteria, such as having a specific health condition.
A statement on Turn2us' website reads: "You could be missing out on money which you never have to pay back. Use our Grants Search tool and we'll match you to grants for which you may be eligible."
To use the Grants Search tool, you only need a few minutes to answer some questions. All the information you provide is anonymous and the charity adds: "We do not share this with anyone."
After answering the questions, Turn2us will then match your information to grants that you may be able to apply for. You can then choose which grants you want to apply to.
Christelle Tambi, product owner of the Grants Search tool at Turn2us, said: "Anyone could be eligible for a grant from a charity that could provide some vital extra money. The amount could be anything from £100 to £2,000 depending on what you need it for.
"Our free online Grants Search tool is an effortless way to find out. Answer a few quick questions about your situation, and in minutes, discover grants from charities across the UK."

Where do these grants come from?
Registered charitable organisations across the UK give grants to assist people in need. Grants are given to people based on their personal circumstances, for example a job you've worked at or a health condition you may have.
Who can apply?
Everyone can apply for a grant and many charities will help people who cannot claim welfare benefits because of their status in the UK. Turn2us adds: "We can’t guarantee you’ll get a grant but we can show you what you could apply for."
How will I be paid?
Each fund’s payment methods will be specific to them. Grants can be given as money, products or services that don't have to be paid back.
When will I receive an answer?
Each fund has a different timeframe. This can range anywhere from five days to three months.
