There is a new favourite for the 2024 Grand National, with I Am Maximus overtaking last year's winner Corach Rambler with the bookies.
Corach Rambler had been top of the pile all week leading into Saturday's race but more and more punters are piling their money on I Am Maximus (now 6/1) as the race draws closer. The Willie Mullins-trained horse won the Irish Grand National last year.
The news comes as the final field for the Grand National has been cut from 34 to 32 after the late withdrawal of Chambard and Run Wild Fred, who have been declared as non-runners.
The number of horses had already been reduced from 40 to improve safety following a number of horse deaths last year.
