Air fryers have arguably become a kitchen gadget essential and I, like many others, now use my air fryer more than the oven. Convenient and energy-saving, I have the Tefal Easy Fry Dual Zone Digital Air Fryer, which is currently £129.99 down from £179.99, but there are tons of air fryer options that will set you back less than £80.

While the air fryer is excellent at cooking frozen foods, making them crispy and piping hot in less time than a conventional oven, I wanted to diversify my mealtimes so headed online and ordered The Hamlyn All Colour Cookery: 200 Air Fryer Recipes.

Priced at £7.35 on Amazon, it contains 200 step-by-step recipes for breakfast, quick snacks, light bites, vegetarian and vegan mains, meat and fish mains, sides and desserts, so I thought it was great value for money. It is also available as on eBook on Kindle for £4.49 and can be bought at WHSmith.

Cookbook in front of an air fryer
It's jam-packed with 200 recipes as well as alternative ingredients and flavour combinations

There are loads of recipes to choose from so there are bound to be meals that appeal to all kinds of taste buds. A few of my favourites that I've tried have been the Crispy Salt & Pepper Chickpeas, Parmesan Kale Crisps and the Cauliflower Bites with Chili Sauce.

If you find yourself tempted to order takeaways but you're trying to find healthier alternatives and save some money, this air fryer cookbook is ideal. Inside you'll find 'fake-away' recipes for meals such as Sesame Prawn Toast, Vegetable Samosas, Katsu Sweet Potato Curry, Southern Style Chicken Nuggets and more.

Those with a sweet tooth are also catered for with tasty treats including Baked Lemon Curd Cheesecake and Iced Cinnamon Rolls.

The recipes are unique, flavourful and interesting

Each recipe is accompanied by bright and clear photographs of the meal and has an alternative method or slight switch of ingredients to try. For example, the Honey Roast Chicken with Lemon can be swapped for a Chipotle and Lime Roast Chicken, and the Frittata with Nduja and Ricotta can be a Ham, Pea and Mint Frittata. With this in mind, there are actually more like 400, rather than the 200 claimed recipes.

The book itself is quite small, which does make it travel-friendly, however it only comes in a paperback version and doesn't stand out on a shelf if you like your recipe books to be on display in the kitchen. For an aesthetically pleasing hardback alternative, consider the Good Housekeeping Air Fryer Cookbook: 70 Delicious Recipes.

Other shoppers also agree that The Hamlyn All Colour Cookery: 200 Air Fryer Recipes is a great buy. One person said: "I have a number of these little Hamlyn recipe books. The recipes are very clear and easy to follow and the pictures of the finished items show you what your food is supposed to look like on completion and are lovely. These books are always my first go-to option when looking for a new or tried and tested recipe. Highly recommended."

Another customer wrote: "Good description of methods for cooking, new recipes for my air fryer, would recommend to adventurous cooks."

Sunday Times Bestseller The Complete Air Fryer Cookbook is also another great option and is currently half price on Amazon, £10 down from £20. If you're thinking of upgrading your air fryer, popular brand Ninja has reduced the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer to £199, down from £249.
