No sooner than the final episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway kicked off on Saturday, April 13, viewers were left “in tears”. The presenting duo took over the whole of Television Centre in London for the final episode – or at least, for a while.
The boys introduced singer-songwriter Craig David as the final show began. Ant & Dec wore tuxedos for the special two-hour episode.
Viewers were treated to some nostalgia as the show began with a mix of older versions of the title sequence, including the first ever one which aired in 2002.

“After 20 series we're giving the show a rest, but boy, are we going out with a bang tonight,” Dec said as the show began. Ant added: “Tonight is a two-hour extravaganza, which is why we've had to supersize the entire show.”
Ant and Dec then introduced special guest announcers Girls Aloud, who looked overjoyed to be there. Nadine Coyle joked: “The best thing about it all is, Dec, you've agreed to pay for the whole show, right?” Ant said in response: “I love the cut of their jib!”
As the episode began viewers quickly took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts. “So gutted this show is ending,” wrote one person.
A second echoed: “I’m already sobbing and it’s only been 5 mins,” while a third commented: “Here we go time for the very last episode of @itvtakeaway i’m gutted it’s ending….really hope it comes back again one day!”
A fourth said: “I don’t want it to be over.” And another shared: “Just dont know what im going to do without #SaturdayNightTakeaway. Love my boys @antanddec.”
