Emergency services attended the scene of a serious collision on Colcot Road in Barry. The road was closed by South Wales Police southbound near Barry community hospital.

The road was closed at around 7pm on Sunday, April 14 and reopened at around 8.30pm. Officers had earlier said it was expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said at the time of the crash: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Colcot Road, Barry. The road is currently closed South Bound by Barry Community hospital and it is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
