Cardiff is gaining another brilliant dessert cafe with Urban Chocolatier opening its first Welsh branch in the capital. The popular London chain, which already has nine cafes in London, serves drool-worthy desserts that are perfect for chocolate lovers.
The delicious menu includes freshly made French toast, crepes and pancakes, cookie dough, cakes, and a variety of Belgian waffles. Urban Chocolatier is set to open in Mermaid Quay on Saturday, April 27. You can keep up to date with the latest What's On news by signing up to the newsletter here.
Posting to Instagram, the company said: "Exciting news alert! Urban Chocolatier is thrilled to announce the grand opening of our first branch in Cardiff, Wales! Join us for a spectacular celebration on Saturday, 27th April 2024, as we officially unveil our newest location. Indulge in a world of decadent chocolates, divine desserts, and unforgettable experiences."

It's not just desserts that Urban Chocolatier offers with Freak Shakes, including the Popcorn Premier, featuring toffee popcorn and salted caramel, and Mallow Dramatic (bubblegum and marshmallows) as well as milkshakes on the menu. The milkshake options include Banoffee, Cake Shake, Skittles and Aero Mint.
You can enjoy four different types of French toast, maple, Belgian choc, Lotus Biscoff and Nutella, and even order a chocolate syringe, to inject chocolate onto any dish. Other highlights on the menu include the Choco Overload crepe, which is milk and white chocolate curls and a milk chocolate sauce, Honey I'm Home pancakes, Cookie Monster waffle, which is crushed Oreo cookies and chocolate sauce, served with soft vanilla ice cream and milk chocolate sauce and choc chunk brownies.
