Get your hands on a trendy garden egg chair for as little as £119 and you'll be wondering why you didn't get one sooner. Garden egg chairs were all the rage last summer and are already in high demand this year. It's no surprise, given there's nothing quite like lounging in a cushion-filled cocoon.

These chairs also add a touch of spa resort glamour to your garden, with a cool 60s vibe reminiscent of Jane Birkin in the 1969 film, La Piscine. While some egg chairs can be highly priced, they start from as low as £119, including the essential cushions.

Among the big brand offerings is Dunelm's Singapore Hanging Egg Chair, priced at £199, featuring a chunky rattan cocoon suspended from a sweeping metal arm. It's available in the traditional natural/cream colourway, as well as black (with cream cushions or tropical print), and a striking peacock blue.

The chair has received an impressive average rating of 4.9 stars with over 600 five-star reviews, including one from Elizabeth, who said: "Best way to relax". She added: "Always wanted one of these but it seemed extravagant and unnecessary. It's in the back garden and I absolutely love sitting on it to read and relax or just to look about and gently swing. The dog sits on it too beside me. I wish I'd bought sooner, but I'm enjoying it now for sure! " On offer as part of the same rattan range, you can find a Double Hanging Egg Chair priced at £399 and a spacious Garden Pod Chair costing £209.

The Habitat Kora Rattan Effect Garden Egg Chair is an equally stylish and budget-friendly option at £200 from Argos. This floor-standing model is available in two colour schemes: grey with white cushions and black with black cushions.

"Fab Egg Chair," beamed TheWeddingHairPro, blessing it with a five-star rating. "Really nice quality, I purchased this egg chair as it's more slimline and fits perfectly in my space. Cushions are comfy. Easy to put together, just waiting for it to stop raining so I can actually sit in it!"

In the meantime, savvy shoppers are being tempted away from bigger brands by newcomer Online Home Shop (OHS). OHS has only recently launched its own iteration of this sought-after outdoor seating for a mere £119.

This shakes up the playing field as it comes in at 80% cheaper than the Dante Garden Hanging Pod Chair (£625) from John Lewis, and undercuts Wilko's Charles Bentley Grey Rattan Swing Egg Chair (£279) by half. OHS's entrant to the market can be picked up in either a natural bamboo or slate grey rattan finish, accompanied by dark neutral cushions. Despite it being fresh onto the scene, it's garnered two glowing five-star reviews. Miss T. shared her experience: "Brilliant chair for the price! Super comfortable and looks incredible!"
